I'd like to translate a question that you will commonly get asked by me and many other Stanley owners. It sounds something like this:
May I borrow some water for my car?
I know what you're thinking, that question seems perfectly clear, but in fact it has a completely different meaning then the one you would assume. Let me break this down for you so you can understand exactly what we are saying. "May I" means "I desperately need". "Borrow" in this context meaning to take with no intention or ability to return. "Some" translates to anything from 30 to 60 US gallons. So really what we are saying is "I desperately need to take 30 to 60 US gallons of water for my car which I have no intention or ability to return." As you can see it isn't really even a question anymore, it's more of a statement informing you of what will be happening very shortly.
Thanks to everyone who helps me find hose bibs and lets me "borrow" some water. I wouldn't be on the road without you!
