A blog about my the history, acquisition and operation of my 1911 Model 62 Stanley Steamer.

A sheet of copper

Here is the raw copper sheet that will be turned into a new pair of water tanks for the Stanley. The existing secondary water tank was made out of what looks to be a cut down cooler with a foam top. Needless to say it's unacceptable and is going to get replaced with something much more era correct. I'm hoping that the the new tank assembly will add an additional few gallons over the "cooler" which will be a much appreciated addition on the long drives ahead.
