1949 Vancouver Daily Province Article

​This interesting article was provided by my grandfather,  who had received it via mail from a friend in eastern Canada. As far as I'm aware the fellow was unaware that our family now owns the Stanley.

The article, dated Tuesday April 12th 1949 states : "Smiling Ben's Auto Sales has a 1908 Stanley steamer which will be shipped to Vancouver where singer James Melton, who has one of the finest collections of old cars in the world, will inspect it today."

Very Interesting article for two reasons, 1) It's dated April 12th 1949. I was under the impression that Smiling Ben had sold the vehicle to Phil Foster in 1947 which is obviously now incorrect. ​2) There may be a photo of the Stanley with James Melton floating around!
