This is not exactly steam specific but an issue encountered on all antique autos. Over time the rear window will discolor and become quite scratched. This of course makes it difficult to see and is frankly an eyesore. I have discovered that Meguiar’s PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish works wonders on fixing this issue and although it doesn't look brand new when your done, it is a vast improvement. PlastX is really easy to use. You should start by giving the window a good wash with some soapy water to remove any physical dirt from the surface. Then just apply the PlastX to the window just as if you were polishing any other part of the car. Once it hazes over just buff it off with a microfiber cloth and your done. Be mindful of the haartz cloth, it has a tendency to discolor if it comes in contact with polishing compounds. For a 15 minute fix the results are definitely worth your while.
